Stop quenching the Spirit, 1 Thessalonians 5:19.

“Quenching” means to extinguish. We quench the Spirit when we suppress the desires He produces in us. These desires relate to spiritual things and cannot be discerned through emotions. The one who frames his mind on the flesh, walks according to the flesh; thereby rejecting the desires from the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:5).

Since we live by the Spirit, let us take each step by the Spirit, not being conceited, nor provoking one another, but in love fulfilling the law of the Christ (Galatians 5:25–6:2)
