Canada “Discovers” Mexico After Ignoring It Since 2020

Mark Carney just flew to Mexico and launched a so-called “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.” Sounds impressive… until you realize:

We already had a trade deal with Mexico since 2020: USMCA / CUSMA / T-MEC. Canada just ignored it — and ignored Mexico — for years.

And now that the U.S. is turning more protectionist, we suddenly “remember” we have another partner?

Is this Canada realizing it might need Mexico after all?

Mexico isn’t politically naïve. They already rejected a similar pitch last month — they want to wait for 2026, when the U.S., Canada, and Mexico can officially reopen the trade agreement.

So what is this “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” really?

Oh, and they included the FIFA World Cup in the same announcement…

Because why not pad the press release?
