Charlie Kirk shooting suspect’s conditions for surrender had to be ‘gentle’: Sheriff

Tyler Robinson, 22, charged with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, turned himself in to authorities in Washington County, Utah, on Sept. 11.

Fearing a violent arrest, Robinson was accompanied by his father and a family friend, a former law enforcement officer, who alerted officials ahead of time.

The sheriff’s office said conditions were kept “gentle” and “inviting” until the FBI and other agencies arrived, ABC News has reported.

Robinson, described as quiet and somber, now faces charges including aggravated murder — with prosecutors seeking the death penalty — as well as firearm discharge, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and committing a violent offense in front of a child.
