Former police detective and whistleblower Jon Wedger exposes the disturbing reality of child prostitution and grooming gangs in London.

Drawing on his experience in the Metropolitan Police's Vice Unit, Wedger alleges that he found children as young as 9 being trafficked and exploited on an "industrial scale."

In this video, Wedger claims that vulnerable children, many suffering from drug addictions and serious diseases, were being sold daily in Mayfair for thousands of pounds.

He alleges that police and social services were fully aware of the situation but failed to act.

Wedger also recounts being threatened by high-ranking officials to keep quiet and was told to "ignore" child victims who sought help. He attributes the systemic failure to "incompetence, laziness, and corruption."

The video also includes a clip of a heated exchange between London Mayor Sadiq Khan and London Assembly member Susan Hall over the presence of grooming gangs.

Wedger responds to Khan's comments directly, accusing him of "lying" and "deliberately" distancing himself from the issue. Wedger says Khan is "a threat to the safety of vulnerable young children" and "should be removed immediately."

A spokesperson for the mayor of London said: “These accusations are false, malicious, and politically motivated.

“The Mayor is committed to doing everything in his power to build a safer London for everyone and has always been clear that all violence against women and girls must be treated with the utmost urgency - both by our police and society as a whole.”

A spokesperson for the Met said: "Our data shows the most prevalent threat to children and young people in London is criminal exploitation, particularly recruitment into county lines gangs, however we are not complacent to other types of exploitation such as offending by grooming gangs.

"We also accept this type of crime often goes under-reported and we are working to improve the quality of data we hold to ensure it is sufficiently comprehensive to enable us to make a definitive assessment about the issue.

"While this work takes place our priority remains on supporting victims and investigating alleged offences by following the facts and without fear or favour."
