Many around the world might not know where Nanjing city is located within China, let alone its dark history; one that marked the city, and the country for that matter, with scares to be remembered forever. Back in 1937, the Japanese Army occupied Nanjing (then spelt 'Nanking'), which was then the capital city of China. During the first six to eight weeks of their occupation, the Japanese Army committed numerous atrocities, including rape, arson, looting, torture, and mass executions.
I’m here at the memorial hall sharing this sombre history with you as I feel it’s my duty for the rest of the world to know what happened here in Nanjing.
