BLACK ROCK crawling through lava

What started as a loosely drawn route across Oregon’s high desert turned into one of the most rewarding stretches I’ve ever driven.

Over 140 miles of trail. Nothing but lava fields, canyons, and the occasional cattle gate.

This isn’t a story about epic obstacles or mechanical failures. It’s about quiet country. About conversations better than any cell signal. About slowing down long enough to see what’s actually out there.

We traveled through Succor Creek, crossed into the remote reaches of Birch Creek, and wandered the lava flows of Jordan Craters. The map said there was a trail… and it turns out, the map was right. Mostly.

This is a Ridge Craft story about comradery, space, and what 140 miles can give you—if you let it.

Thanks for watching RidgeCraft.
