Your Purpose in Christ Is Not Found in Biblical Figures

In an effort to be inspired, encouraged or empowered by the lived experiences of biblical figures, Christian believers frequently take it upon themselves (or are incentivized by others) to view their lives in parallel with that of historical figures of the Bible. This practice, while seemingly innocent and acceptable in the service of faith, presents a drawback that couples honoring biblical examples with displacing the revelation of Christ.
