Change Your Words, Change Your World: Hate Evil and Love Good! #217

Today we are gathering to honor the 2,977 fallen victims of the devastating September 11, 2001, attack on America, twenty-four years ago, and, to honor Charlie Kirk who was gruesomely assassinated yesterday during a college event in Utah.

What a sorrowful two days for America! John 15:13 “No one can have greater love than to give his life for his friends.” Which applies to all the responders to 9/11 and to Charlie Kirk. Charlie died as a martyr for Christ, much like the disciple Stephen died by stoning when he unapologetically defended the life of Jesus Christ.

Sadly America is a divided nation and we, the body of Christ are called to stand up, armor up and speak the truth in love. Let us be on guard to recognize the deceivers among us.
What are we to look for? According to Prov 6:16-19 MSG: Here are six things GOD hates, and one more that he loathes with a passion: eyes that are arrogant, a tongue that lies, hands that murder the innocent, a heart that hatches evil plots, feet that race down a wicked track, a mouth that lies under oath, (and what God loathes with a passion) a troublemaker in the family.

We are to: “Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice…” Amos 5:15.
We are to recognize: “Good people can’t stand the sight of deliberate evil; the wicked can’t stand the sight of well-chosen goodness.” Prov 29:27 MSG

Lastly, “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.” Romans 12:9 NLT
