Part 84: AWS Negligence as a National Security & Procurement Risk

Amazon Web Services (AWS) ignored fraud abuse reports while criminals used AWS EC2 servers to host pig-butchering scams like Intellisoft.rest. Victims lost millions, and AWS kept billing the criminals.

But this negligence doesn’t just harm fraud victims — it undermines national security. The U.S. government relies on AWS for sensitive contracts. Under federal procurement rules, contractors must prove responsibility and integrity. If AWS profited from cyber crime while ignoring reports, that record could disqualify them from future bids.

Congress has already investigated AWS over the JEDI Pentagon contract. Exposure of AWS’s negligence in hosting pig-butchering scams raises an even bigger question: can AWS be trusted with America’s most sensitive government work?
