The Chestnut Log I Refused to Quit On

This chestnut log gave me a fight from start to finish—cracks, checks, and stubborn grain that made every cut a challenge. Most folks would’ve tossed it in the firewood pile… but I just couldn’t let it go. I kept at it, and what emerged is a piece with character, warmth, and everyday usefulness. It’s far from perfect—but it’s real, and that’s what I love about it.
