Boulder Valley, Montana.

Geomagnetic storming had started before darkness fell here in Montana, but we had a crazy wind & rainstorm throughout the early evening. I set out the camera, secured to the railing, hoping that at some point the skies might partially clear and it would catch some aurora action. Around 9:30pm quick glimpses of stars appeared through the clouds, which eventually thinned enough for the ongoing aurora and substorms, a rising moon, and meteors to be seen.

This nightlapse represents video captured between 9:30pm September 14th, and 6:20am on September 15th.

Nightlapse footage captured with a GoPro Hero9, video processed through VideoProc Vlogger software (exposure, contrast and saturation adjusted to compensate for the bright moonlight)
