Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz launches campaign for third term

Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee, announced his campaign for a third term as Minnesota governor.

Highlighting progress in the state, Walz criticized President Trump and VP JD Vance while addressing issues like gun violence and the need for unity.

Walz, 61, gained national attention during his brief stint as Kamala Harris’ running mate and has faced scrutiny over his record as governor and past military service, Fox News has reported.

First elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022, he aims to become the first Minnesota governor in six decades to win a third consecutive term, facing Republican contenders including Kendall Qualls and Scott Jenson.
