In the latest blow to free speech in service to Israel, the House of Representatives passed a defense budget amendment that would bar contractors in the United States, who boycott Israel from receiving Pentagon contracts.

Effectively requiring weapons manufacturers to arm Israel if they want to supply the U.S. military. Critics argue this provision is unconstitutional, violating the First Amendment by punishing political boycotts and shielding Israel from accountability for human rights violations.

Guest hosts Russell Dobular and Keaton Weiss of the Due Dissidence show note the curious timing of the vote, occurring directly in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, despite his vocal opposition to similar anti-BDS bills earlier this year.

They add that using his death as political cover highlights how entrenched pro-Israel influence is in U.S. empires' politics, while a slim coalition of Republican dissenters has so far prevented even harsher crackdowns from advancing.
