A 38-year-old man is facing murder and multiple felonies after prosecutors say he intentionally drove his SUV into a family leaving a Queens restaurant — killing 16-year-old Jhoanny Alvarez and injuring her mother and stepfather.

📍 What Happened:
Around 4:10 AM Saturday, outside Prima Donna Restaurant, prosecutors say Edwin Cruz Gomez offered the teen and her mother money for sex. A fight broke out with the teen’s stepfather — bystanders intervened — and the family began walking away.

🚙 Cruz Gomez allegedly got behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Suburban, accelerated into the family, pinning Alvarez against a pole. He then reversed into a parked van, ditched the SUV, and fled.

👮‍♂️ Police say he later approached NYPD officers claiming he’d been assaulted. Officers followed him back, tested his BAC at 0.137% (well above 0.08%), and took him into custody.
