Sharing Critiques of Oncology in the US

Today, we examine contemporary critiques of the state of oncology treatment in the US. According to the American Cancer Society's official page, the lifetime risk of being diagnosed with cancer in the United States is approximately 39.9% for men — or about 2 in 5 men, and 39.0% for women — also close to 2 in 5 women. All of this despite the founding of the American Cancer Society in May 1913 and their reported raising as much as $900 million annually for ongoing research. In the US and UK, annual spending for cancer therapy exceeds $200 billion, and in the UK, it is estimated to cost as much as £15 billion. Prevention is thus the best strategy.
