Trying to check the gas-to-electric switch😬… but can't without this ⚡🚫

Today I went out to check a home where the appliances and systems are being switched from gas service over to electricity. This is an important step before the new tenant moves in — ensuring everything is safe, functional, and compliant.

But here’s the problem… the electricity still hasn’t been turned on by the homeowner. Without active utilities, I can’t properly test the appliances or finish the inspection. That means the process stalls until the homeowner takes care of their end.

💡 Why this matters:

Tenants must move into a property with working utilities — it’s a requirement for habitability.

Homeowners need to ensure utilities are properly switched on (even if they’re later transferred to tenants).

Property managers can’t complete inspections or confirm safety standards without active service.

👉 This is a reminder for all homeowners: if you’re preparing a property for rent, don’t forget the basics — utilities must be active for inspections, cleanings, and tenant move-ins. Otherwise, delays happen and everyone’s time gets wasted.

No utilities today means no finish on this job — time to move on to the next property.

Let’s Go! Let’s Get to Work! 💪
