On Aug. 30, just before 7:30 pm, a driver’s dash camera captured the driver of a white vehicle crashing into two vehicles while heading east on 6th Avenue and Billings Street.

Body camera footage shows an Aurora Police officer conducting speed enforcement approaching the vehicle with his gun drawn. In the driver's seat was 37-year-old Rajon Belt-Stubblefield, who is seen getting out of the vehicle and saying, “Don’t shoot me.”

The video shows how, shortly after getting out of the vehicle, Belt-Stubblefield throws a gun into nearby grass as the officer pushes him to the ground.

Belt-Stubblefield gets up and then repeatedly tells his son, “Get that s***,” which police claim is a reference to the gun thrown on the ground.

In the video, Belt-Stubblefield’s son can be heard telling the officer and his father to “chill.”

Belt-Stubblefield and the officer, who had his gun drawn, continue to face off with each other in the grass and then in the middle of the road.

The officer repeatedly tells Belt-Stubblefield to get on the ground and punches him in the head. Belt-Stubblefield can then be seen holding up his fists and approaching the officer while saying, “You ready for this.”

Eventually, the officer fires three shots, killing Belt-Stubblefield.
