When Stones Ignite Revival: Sauls to Pauls - A Call to Obedience & New Harvest
Let me walk you through the biblical scenes that the Spirit led me to — Stephen’s martyrdom, Philip’s obedience, Saul’s conversion — and show how those ancient moments are a roadmap for the revival fire the Lord is stirring today. I will press you to move from passive faith to active obedience, to choose mercy while calling for justice, and to participate in the great harvest being born in our time.
Why Today Matters: Dates, Signs, and a Season
We marked this day — the fifteenth day of the ninth month — and I shared several spiritual connections that the Lord gave me. The ninth book (1 Sam), the fifteenth chapter, speaks of the fall of Saul and the rise of David; it’s prophetic language about one man’s mistake pulling another out of obscurity to fulfill destiny. That pattern is repeated in Acts where violence and persecution become the spark for revival. I told you I felt the Lord say, Do not take this for granted. He is up to something real and good. If you were with us in the live meeting, (Available as a replay on our Rumble Channel) you know I saw the hand of God moving in ways that mimic those biblical shifts.
Stephen’s Witness: Stones Become Fuel
Acts 7 records Stephen’s arrest, his boldness, and then his stoning. While his accusers covered their ears and hurled stones, Stephen prayed: “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” and “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” His death did not end the work; it exploded into movement. Stephen’s witness scattered believers throughout Judea and Samaria — and those scattered believers preached the gospel wherever they went. Persecution became the primary means of spreading the message because obedience did not stop with the stones — it intensified.
“Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do.”
I reminded you that forgiveness is not a denial of justice. We call for justice, yes — but we are not the executioner. God alone is the righteous judge; vengeance belongs to Him. Christ’s example on the cross teaches us to forgive even as we pursue righteousness. That posture is key when revival breaks out amid tragedy: mercy leads, not vengeance.
Philip in Samaria: Signs, Wonders, and the Simple Power of Obedience
When Philip ran to Samaria, he did not win people by rhetoric, eloquence or intellect. He won them by signs, wonders, and a simple proclamation of the gospel, that which he experienced. The crowds believed because they saw evil spirits cast out and the paralytic healed. Simon the sorcerer, who had amazed people by magic, was converted not by argument but by encountering the power of God. The apostles Peter and John later laid hands on the new Samaritan believers, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Here’s the point I pressed on: the harvest we are seeing now will not be won primarily by debates on social media. It will be won by our obedience to doing what we are prompted and instructed to do and the release of the power of God through ordinary people. God is raising a people who will lay hands on the sick, baptize the new believers, mentor them, and model the reality of Jesus in daily life. God's own word says "These are the signs that will FOLLOW those who believe.
Simon’s Mistake — A Warning
Simon tried to buy the Holy Spirit. Peter’s blunt rebuke is a reminder: God’s gifts are not merchandise. Revival will not be purchased by manipulation or money; it will be born by repentance, humility, and obedience.
The Ethiopian Eunuch: A Model of Hungry Faith
Philip’s encounter with the Ethiopian eunuch is one of the most instructive stories for our moment. The eunuch asked, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” He was hungry, honest, and ready to be instructed. Philip walked alongside the chariot, explained Isaiah, and baptized him right away when the eunuch asked. Philip didn’t wait for credentials, titles, or permission. He obeyed the Spirit’s command to go and the result was an immediate new believer who left rejoicing.
There are millions of young people today who are asking the same question: “How can I understand unless someone shows me?” They are hungry for truth. We have been placed in their path by God — some of us for decades — not to argue but to demonstrate and to disciple.
Saul to Paul: The Power of an Encounter
Acts 9 is the turning point. Saul, who had overseen Stephen’s stoning and pursued the early followers, was headed to Damascus with letters (his manifesto - who else has manifestos?) to arrest Christians. On the road a light shone, a voice called, and Saul was struck blind. God then spoke to Ananias in a vision: go to Straight Street and lay hands on Saul. Ananias objected — who could blame him? Saul’s resume looked terrible — but God called Saul “my chosen instrument.” Ananias obeyed. He laid hands on Saul, said the Lord sent him, and scales fell from Saul’s eyes. Saul was baptized, and immediately saw what he thought was true as a lies and he began preaching the truth of Jesus.
The key elements are clear: encounter + obedience = transformation. God can change the fiercest persecutor into the boldest apostle. He can turn the stone-thrower into the one who carries the message to kings and nations. But it requires two things: an encounter with Jesus and ordinary people in obedience to meet Him halfway.
How This Applies to Our Moment
In the live message I tied these biblical patterns to things happening today. As much as media noise and political conflict swirl around us, the Lord is converting confusion into a pathway for revival. I encouraged you not to become consumed by conspiracy theories or partisan shouting matches. Whether certain events are a “psyop” or the deed of a deranged individual — the prophetic call remains the same: respond in faith, not fear; forgive, but call for justice; minister and make room for God to convert hearts.
I also warned against the spirit of religious rigidity that says, “We’ll only accept this person if they check our boxes.” God delights in transforming the unlikely: Ananias was not a priest, Philip was an ordinary citizen but a believer, and Paul was a zealot turned apostle. God chooses the humble and equips them to do extraordinary things.
Practical Steps I Asked You to Take
Be someone who obeys small nudges. If you feel led to pray for a person, do it. Lay hands, speak a word, baptize, mentor.
Stop depending on eloquence. Your testimony is powerful; speak it plainly. Tell people what Jesus did for you.
Offer mercy while calling for justice. Pray, forgive, and let God be the judge.
Prepare to disciple new believers. Many will be brand-new in the faith and need mentoring, baptism, and demonstration of God’s power.
Reject apathy and religious complacency. We must be the ekklesia — the called-out assembly — that does the words in red.
Personal Testimonies and a Challenge
During the message I shared a small, honest testimony: I had been prompted to pray for a man with a walker multiple times and resisted. The third time I obeyed, I laid hands on him and spoke simply. A physical healing followed instantly. It wasn’t eloquent preaching; it was obedience. I used that story as a reminder that the supernatural often flows through simple acts of faith.
My challenge to you is straightforward: begin. Start small. Obey the Holy Spirit’s promptings. Baptize the seeking. Lay hands on the sick. Teach the hungry. If you begin, God will multiply. Saul didn’t begin as a polished apostle; he began by proclaiming the encounter he had and continued in obedience. The more he preached, the stronger he became. Revival grows by repetition and obedience, not by perfect preparation.
What I Believe God Is Doing
I believe we are at the start of a large domino effect — a harvest of hearts across campuses, workplaces, and in public squares. Young people who had been influenced by various public figures are now being confronted with grief, conviction, and curiosity. Millions who once had only a cultural affiliation to truth are now susceptible to genuine encounters. God is calling us to step in and mentor them, to show them signs and wonders that testify Jesus is real.
Politicians, professors, and public figures who have been entrenched in systems of unbelief are not beyond God’s reach. The story of Saul’s conversion tells us plainly that God can take even the most hardened person and make them a vessel of revival. But it will require people like Ananias — ordinary, obedient saints — to go where the Lord sends them.
Closing Exhortation
Do not take this moment for granted. The stones that once seemed to silence the church can become the fuel for a new season of awakening. Today I called the church to stop playing church and start being the church. If you love Jesus, obey His commands. The signs that will follow are for those who simply step out in faith.
Will you be one of the people God uses? Will you answer the call to lay hands, to baptize, to mentor, to bring mercy and justice together? The Lord is looking for obedient hearts. The seasons are shifting. Rise up and be counted.
