Pastor Rob McCoy: Today we celebrate the life of Charlie Kirk, a 31 year old, God fearing Christian man, a husband, a father of two, a patriot, a civil rights activist and now a Christian martyr. The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. It birthed the church. It's only fitting that a martyr would awaken the church. Charlie has finished his race and entered glory. Heaven records his faithfulness. But make no mistake, this was not random.
Charlie wasn't a violent man, and the murderer did what all evil does, it took life, and Charlie lived his entire existence, preserving and protecting life, especially in the womb. He was a tireless defender of the unborn. Awakening America's conscience with topics that are inconvenient. He addressed things that people said were compassion that weren't and he called it for what it was.
Charlie built Turning Point on the power of the spoken word. He wasn't a violent man. Never got into confrontations, physical confrontations. He just wasn't a violent man. And he built Turning Point on the spoken word, and he honored his detractors. He honored those who disagreed with him. He'd let them go to the front of the line because he knew that debate and the use of words would stave off violence, and he would endure ad hominem attacks, and every day those who couldn't contend with his logic and his reason, the logos, which is a Greek word that you find in John Chapter One, in the beginning was the logos. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt with man. And Charlie would use the logos that takes chaos and brings order. It's rational thought, and he would stand and contend with logic and reason in the logos, and those that couldn't contend with him threatened his life every day, endless death threats.
Charlie Kirk: We as Christians are called to go into the public arena to correct error with truth. So I go to college campuses, and there's a lot of error. We're all sinners. We're all live in error. I'm far more interested in what God wants of me than what I wantf rom God.
