I just saw the reactions from some on the left to the Charlie Kirk assassination—and I’m disgusted. People laughing. Saying he deserved it. Already calling for new targets like Asmongold or Matt Walsh. Politicians staying silent or worse, indirectly fueling this rhetoric. In this reaction, I call out the cruelty, the dangerous escalation, and the shocking double standard. If you defend speech that targets people with violence—even if you claim it’s rhetorical—you’re complicit. Human life, decency, respect—they still matter.

Multiple left-leaning social media posts and comments were shared widely where individuals said Kirk “deserved it” or made jokes about his murder. While I won’t quote inflammatory content verbatim, there’s clear evidence in public threads that some users are treating this assasination with mockery rather than mourning.

In some forums, commentary has escalated from insults to calls for more targets—even naming conservative personalities like Asmongold, Matt Walsh, etc., as acceptable next victims.

Some progressive politicians and public figures have yet to clearly condemn these reactions. Their silence or partial statements often feel like tacit acceptance.

Why I’m Criticizing the Left & Demanding Better:

There’s a difference between strong political disagreement and celebrating someone’s death—or hoping for more violence. That’s not debate; that’s dangerous dehumanization. When people in power or visible platforms remain quiet, it signals to others that this rhetoric is acceptable. We need people to stand up, call out hateful speech, protect free speech by ensuring it doesn’t spiral into actual violence. And we need to demand accountability—no more excuses.
