SILVER "BARTERING" VIDEO - Is it Still Possible to TRADE With SILVER?

In this video we explore the possibility of "bartering" with silver coins for food at a local farmers market. The term "Bartering" refers to trading one thing for another without using money so strictly speaking we are not actually bartering as silver is still real money. Many people do not see silver as money though so that is why we use the term in this video. Is it possible to barter with silver for food? I went with Mike the owner of Portland Precious Metals to the Farmers market to try to barter silver coins. I was surprised how many people were willing to barter with silver. Many of the people there were willing to accept silver for food and goods. We were able to use mostly junk silver to barter with. Junk silver and silver coins such as the American silver eagle were able to be used to barter with in this experiment. I believe that many of the people would have been willing to barter for silver even if it were not on camera. Many people did not know what the silver was worth so we needed to educate them on the value of the silver before they were willing to take it in trade. I would say this silver bartering video was a success and I look forward to bartering with silver again in the future.
