All Things Spiritual-Compassion

The study of love for compassion and discipline for compassion can be approached from two perspectives. The first viewpoint focuses on the aspect of love for compassion, as seen in 1 John 3:14. John, often referred to as the "apostle of love," emphasizes the importance of loving one's brother as a sign of salvation and divine grace. He presents brotherly love as a definitive sign of spiritual rebirth and evangelical justification. This love is not partisan, but rooted in two profound truths: every individual is an excellent work of God, created in His own likeness, and the divine reason for punishing murder serves as a compelling basis for love towards all people, forbidding hatred of any "brother" of mankind. This love is not merely a virtue, but a sign of our justified state and a testament to the love we extend to our fellow believers.
