A report from the program "Vremya" on August 29, 1988, about the return from the Far East aboard the Antonov An-124 "Ruslan" plane of the participants in the "Europe-Asia" car rally.
A brief interview with the commander of the An-124 crew, Aleksandr Galunenko.

The car rally included two ZAZ-1102 «Tavria» cars, VAZ-2108, VAZ-2109, two «Moskvich» AZLK-2141, GAZ-3102 "Volga" and two prototypes of the RAF-22038 "Latvia" minibus. The drivers were qualified test drivers and experienced athletes. One crew consisted of members of the "Znanie" society - three professors, including the head of the rally Y. Gushcho.
The cars for the rally were not specially selected; all underwent a break-in of 500 to 1000 km after standard assembly and the maintenance prescribed by the instructions. Compared to standard production cars, they differed by having non-standard protection of the engine sump, portable field radios, additional fuel tanks, roof flashers, headlight protection, and a number of other additions.
