Blake Draven was a dear friend of mine back when I lived in Malta. We often sat for hours over coffee, talking about music, life, and his dreams of creating something lasting.

With the help of Maltese singer, songwriter, and producer Niki Gravino, Blake was able to bring two of his songs to life. Blake provided the lyrics and his voice, while Niki wrote the music, directed the sessions, and oversaw the recording and production.

For over a decade, these recordings sat unheard. I felt it was time to finally share them with the world.

These songs are a snapshot of Blake’s creative spirit — raw, loud, and unapologetic — and I’m proud to keep his music alive by sharing them here.

The Lonely Dead leans more into a Soft Cell–styled atmosphere: darker, ballad-like, and atmospheric, but still driven by a strong beat and plenty of grit. It’s moody yet danceable, with a haunting edge that makes it stand apart from Waste Time.
