III. Point I: Zion's Camp
i. What happened: 105
1. Wicked:
a. Behold, I say unto you, were it not for the transgressions of my people, speaking concerning the church and not individuals, they might have been redeemed even now.
b. But behold, they have not learned to be obedient to the things which I required at their hands, but are full of all manner of evil, and do not impart of their substance, as becometh saints, to the poor and afflicted among them;
c. And are not united according to the union required by the law of the celestial kingdom;
d. And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself.
e. And my people must needs be chastened until they learn obedience, if it must needs be, by the things which they suffer.
2. Promise D&C 103: "And by hearkening to observe all the words which I, the Lord their God, shall speak unto them, they shall never cease to prevail until the kingdoms of the world are subdued under my feet, and the earth is given unto the saints, to possess it forever and ever."

IV. Point II: United Order/United Firm
i. 104: Temporal revelation:
1. BY "Many of the first revelations given to Joseph were of a temporal character, pertaining to a literal kingdom on the earth. And most of the revelations he received in the early part of his ministry pertained to what the few around him should do in this or in that case-when and how they should perform their duties; at the same time calling upon them to preach the Gospel and diffuse the spirit and principles of the Kingdom of God, that their eyes might be open to see and gather the people together that they might begin and organize a literal, temporal organization on the earth."
2. "We may say that eight or nine-tenths of the doctrines and principles set forth in the revelations given to those men were of a temporal nature. "

But it must needs be done in mine own way; and behold this is the way that I, the Lord, have decreed to provide for my saints, that the poor shall be exalted, in that the rich are made low. For the earth is full, and there is enough and to spare [not supply, but distribution]; yea, I prepared all things, and have given unto the children of men to be agents unto themselves. Therefore, if any man shall take of the abundance which I have made, and impart not his portion, according to the law of my gospel, unto the poor and the needy, he shall, with the wicked, lift up his eyes in hell, being in torment.

2. Poor exalted, rich made low
a. HBL, ch 18:
i. … Now, what does he mean by this phrase? His way is, “that the poor shall be exalted, in that the rich are made low.” …
ii. “Exalt,” in the language of the dictionary, and the definition that I am sure the Lord is trying to convey means: “To lift up with pride and joy to success.” That is how we should lift the poor up, “with pride and joy to success,” and how are we to do it? By the rich being made low.
iii. Now, do not mistake that word “rich.” That does not always mean a man who has a lot of money. That man may be poor in money, but he may be rich in skill. He may be rich in judgement. He may be rich in good example. He may be rich in splendid optimism, and in a lot of other qualities that are necessary. And when individual Priesthood quorum members unite themselves together, we usually find all those rare qualities necessary to lift up the needy and distressed with pride and joy to success in the accomplishment. There could not be a more perfect working of the Lord’s plan than that.
b. Earth is full, enough and to spare. Mismanagement problem. JEF "Serving the Lord and Resisting the Devil" "Those who argue for sustainable growth lack vision and faith. The Lord said, “For the earth is full, and there is enough and to spare.”18 That settles the issue for me. It should settle the issue for all of us. The Lord has spoken

V. Point III: High Council
i. "Bro Joseph then said he would show the order of councils in ancient days as shown to him by vision. The law by which to govern the Council in the Church of Christ. Jerusalem was the seat of the Church Council in ancient days. The apostle Peter was the president of the Council and held the keys of the Kingdom of God on the earth. [He] was appointed to this office by the voice of the Savior and acknowledged in it by the voice of the Church. . . . It was not the order of heaven in ancient councils to plead for and against the guilty as in our judicial courts (so called) but that every councilor when he arose to speak, should speak precisely according to evidence and according to the teaching of the Spirit of the Lord, that no councilor should attempt to screen the guilty when his guilt was manifest. That the person accused before the High Council had a right to one half the members of the council to plead his cause, in order that his case might be fairly presented before the president that a decision might be rendered according to truth and righteousness. . . . Bro Joseph said that this organization was an ensample to the high priests in their councils abroad. . . . It was then voted by all present that they desired to come under the present order of things which they all considered to be the will of God" Minute Book 1. 17 Feb 1834
