On August 25, 2025, President Trump signed an executive order withholding federal funding for states and cities that use cashless bail, declaring these policies endanger Americans by allowing violent offenders to walk free. He directed the Department of Justice to hold accountable every jurisdiction putting citizens at risk by refusing to detain dangerous criminals.
Earlier, on August 11, 2025, Trump invoked the DC Home Rule Act and declared a public safety emergency. He deployed the National Guard to Washington, D.C. and took direct federal control of the DC Metropolitan Police Department. He announced that it was “liberation day in DC, and we’re going to take our capital back.”
This is not stopping in Washington. The National Guard will now be deployed in 19 states to do the same thing—taking back cities and states from corrupt systems that refuse to protect the people.
