🦉 General Description

Size: Small owl, about 7.5–10 inches (19–25 cm) long, with a wingspan of 21–24 inches (53–61 cm).

Weight: Typically 4–8 ounces (110–220 g).

Appearance: Compact body, short tail, and small ear tufts. Plumage varies from gray to reddish-brown, with heavy streaking and mottling that provides excellent camouflage against tree bark.
