NEW YORK, September 12, 2025 — Donald Trump Jr. joined Fox’s Martha MacCallum to reflect on the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. In an emotional interview, Trump Jr. condemned the celebration of Kirk’s murder by some on the left and emphasized that Charlie’s only “crime” was his effectiveness in exposing failed Democrat narratives.

“It’s been very hard, Martha. What was Charlie’s real crime? He spoke truth. He gave even his biggest detractors a platform to debate, and he did it cordially. That’s why he was so effective with young people. He showed how asinine so many of the Democrat ideas really are,” Trump Jr. said.

He reacted to reports that Robinson had inscribed shell casings with anti-fascist slogans and propaganda: “Charlie’s crime was talking about God, family, country — things that Democrats now treat as verboten. God forbid you like the Constitution. God forbid you say men shouldn’t play in women’s sports. These are not radical concepts, but when they lose the argument, the left resorts to violence.”

Drawing comparisons to the Butler, Pennsylvania shooter, Trump Jr. expressed disbelief that young men could become so radicalized without any online footprint: “There is something very odd here. Unless, of course, it’s being covered up because the true motive would be worse for their cause.”

He underscored that political violence is not “going both ways”: “It’s simply one way. It’s coming from those aligned with the Democrat Party, fomented by the media. You can’t call people Nazis and fascists for years and then pretend you had nothing to do with it when radicals take up arms.”

When asked about Utah Governor Spencer Cox’s statement that this moment is a watershed in American history, Trump Jr. agreed: “I definitely think it’s a turning point. I’ve had so many conversations with Charlie about this. He was always under threat, but he went forward because he believed in God, his mission, and his country. That’s how we have to carry on — unafraid, having the dialogue, refusing to be silenced.”

Trump Jr. concluded with a call to continue Kirk’s work: “If we keep doing what Charlie did for years — bringing people together, uniting them in a common cause for our country, our children, and our civilization — his legacy will be well served.”
