As ocean water evaporates, 136,000 tons of microplastics rise into the atmosphere each year through sea breeze.

Up to 25 million tons of micro- and nanoplastics travel annually by air, sea spray, snow, and fog - crossing continents and oceans.

We now inhale and ingest plastic daily - with every breath, sip, and meal. Microplastics are found in sea ice, rainwater, soil, food, even salt, and in remote regions like alpine mountains and polar snow.

They contaminate 1,300 animal species - and have been discovered in every human organ.
