In this bodycam footage, a Barton County Sheriff’s deputy conducts a traffic stop after observing a driver fail to stop at a red light. The situation escalates when the driver refuses to provide his license and resists arrest. A struggle follows, and the driver attempts to flee on foot. After issuing a verbal warning, the deputy deploys a Taser, causing the suspect to fall to the ground.

Backup officers from the Great Bend Police Department respond, and emergency medical services are called to evaluate the suspect. He is later transported to the hospital, then booked into the Barton County Jail. The driver was identified as 18-year-old Daniel Zuniga of Hoisington, Kansas, and charged with:

Battery of a law enforcement officer

Interference with a law enforcement officer

Multiple traffic offenses

Zuniga was released after posting a $2,500 bond. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office reviewed the arrest and reported no violations of department policy or Kansas law.
