Is vote-by-mail democracy’s biggest pitfall?

Politicians often advocate for “expanding access” through vote-by-mail initiatives. However, we need to recognize the potential downsides. When certain constituencies are favored, it creates an opportunity for election fraud. Practices such as ballot harvesting, inadequate signature verification, and untraceable handling of votes can turn what is intended as convenience into a mechanism for corruption.

As the number of mail-in ballots increases, it becomes easier for individuals with bad intentions to manipulate the process and sway the results. This isn't about empowering voters; it's about politicians exploiting the system for their benefit.

Vote-by-mail is not solely focused on access; it is fundamentally about power. Many in positions of authority already understand how to take advantage of this setup.
