Odin is the Old Norse/Germanic God of War and Death, all father of the Gods Thor and Baldr. Valhalla is his hall where brave Viking warriors live after death in battle. Odin has the power to shape-shift into any animal or human and will often travel this way. Odin self sacrificed himself to learn all things that exist in the nine worlds that are hidden from him - His eye cast into the well of Mimir, he then jumped on his spear Gungnir, and hung himself in the Yggdrasil for nine days and nights. While doing this he gained wisdom of all the worlds, and learned the meaning of the runes. After his self sacrifice he was even more powerful, armed with secret wisdom and magical knowledge. Odin has two ravens Hugin and Munin, two wolves Geri and Freki, and Sleipnir, an eight legged horse that can run through all nine worlds. Wednesday is derived from Wodans-day (Odins day)
