This week's video release is the Bio of the first song from, The Madman, titled, The Ferryman. Our journey into the realm of beyond has begun.
My current projects are the completion of, True Faith, the acoustic version. I have begun my next release from, More Floor Less Cutting, titled, Vacation. I am having fun with the bio, A-Cappella, and acoustic versions. More on these later.
The week's review is Fight Club book vs. movie.
Fight Club is a 1996 novel by Chuck Palahniuk. It was Palahniuk's first published novel, and follows the experiences of an unnamed protagonist struggling with insomnia. The protagonist finds relief by impersonating a seriously ill person in several support groups, after his doctor remarks that insomnia is not "real suffering" and that he should find out what it is really like to suffer. The protagonist then meets a mysterious man named Tyler Durden and establishes an underground fighting club as radical psychotherapy.
Fight Club the movie is a 1999 American film directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter. It is based on the 1996 novel Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. Norton plays the unnamed narrator, who is discontented with his white-collar job. He forms a "fight club" with a soap salesman, Tyler Durden (Pitt) and becomes embroiled with an impoverished but beguiling woman, Marla Singer (Bonham Carter).
I loved the movie and it has made its way into my collection, complete with commentaries….I love commentaries. It has manny quotes that are a part of my daily hard truths. Some of my top favorite lines are,
“On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.”
““It's only after you've lost everything that you're free to do anything”
“A perfect moment only lasts an instant.”
“Don’t look in the freezer!”
“We don’t have a great war in our generation or great depression, but we do. It’s a war of the spirit.”
“We have to show these men and women freedom by enslaving them and fighting them.”
“Imagine if everyone holds a strike until we redistribute the wealth of the world.”
What I am saying people is, “Read the fucking book, or listen to it.” Don’ t be a pussy and read it. Read it and let it all go. We are nothing special. We are decaying matter. I have nothing and am nothing and I am truly free.
We all are multiple people. We are our selves, we are the person we present to others. We are the people judging others. We want to control everything. In doing so we stretch ourselves so thin that we lose who we really are. To compound the situation we exist in a world full of people who are multiple people. Just like you.
We are deliberately repressed and suppressed and enslaved. When and if we revolt, explode, or stand up we are beaten down.
If it is a lousing fight, fuck it. Fight the system. Fight the power. Fight the propaganda. Most of all, fight yourself. If you don’t fight then you will never know. If you do fight then you will know what you are made out of.
Definitely an appropriate review to go with this week's video release from, The Madman.
Next week's music video release is, The Freeman the A-Cappella version.
