REO Speedwagon - Take It On The Run

"Take It on the Run" is a classic rock hit by REO Speedwagon, released in 1980 on their album Hi Infidelity. Written by guitarist Gary Richrath, it’s a tale of heartbreak and suspicion, with Kevin Cronin’s raw vocals delivering lines like, “Heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who…” The song’s catchy riff and emotional punch made it a staple of ‘80s rock radio. It peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains one of their signature tracks.
