Psaki Blames GOP Rhetoric in Wake of Charlie Kirk’s Murder

(Dist. of Criminals), September 11, 2025 — Former Biden White House Press Secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki wasted no time turning the assassination of Charlie Kirk into a partisan attack, claiming that Republicans and President Trump are the true source of “problematic” rhetoric in America.

During an interview with Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Psaki responded to Trump’s Oval Office address condemning radical left-wing violence by accusing him of escalating the situation. “There’s a lot of rhetoric that is problematic. A lot of it is coming from one particular side and from one particular building,” Psaki said, pointing directly at Trump and the White House.

Kelly echoed Psaki’s sentiment, criticizing Trump’s words as divisive. “Right now, we need a president that will bring the country together and not try to further divide us,” Kelly stated.

This follows MSNBC’s disastrous coverage in the immediate aftermath of the shooting at Utah Valley University. As The Gateway Pundit reported, anchor Katy Tur and analyst Matthew Dowd downplayed the assassination of Kirk, with Tur calling him “polarizing” and suggesting Trump might exploit the tragedy, while Dowd speculated the fatal shot could have been a supporter’s gun fired in celebration. After public outrage, MSNBC fired Dowd, though Tur remains on-air.

Meanwhile, President Trump’s address from the Oval Office honored Kirk as a patriot and vowed justice: “For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now.”

Rather than unite in mourning and denounce political violence, Psaki and Kelly used Kirk’s death to shift blame onto conservatives—an act that many are calling a disgraceful attempt to rewrite the narrative.
