Guy Meister - Convicted!

Guy Meister, a trucker and mechanic from Nova Scotia, was one of the leaders of the eastern leg of the Freedom Convoy that made it's way to Ottawa in 2022. Guy stayed for the entire convoy, along with his friend Sam Field, who is also a mechanic, a trucker, and a farmer from the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia.

Both of these gentleman remained respectful and peaceful throughout the duration of the Convoy, and worked with others to shovel snow, salt sidewalks, and feed the homeless when city workers were no longer maintaining the streets. They talk of how the salt bins left by subway entrances were locked to prevent them from salting and to make it more dangerous and challenging for Convoy participants and other locals.

Guy was eventually arrested and charged with resisting arrest, mischief, and obstruction of justice. The first charge was dropped, but his trial recently concluded and he was recently found guilty of mischief.

That's right - he received a criminal conviction for his participation in the Convoy. This isn't right - but the good news is that his sentence for this "crime" was only 20 hours of community service, after which he says he will have no probation and no criminal record!

Guy's ordeal is basically over - but he's out almost $40,000 for having to travel to Ottawa on his own dime and expense about 19 times for court hearings on these charges, all the way from Nova Scotia, of course along with his legal fees. He believes they were trying to wear him out and make him sick of coming so that he would plead guilty. But Guy never broke down and pled guilty.

Please help Guy recoup some of his expenses, and move on with his life!
