Awaken Biblical Prophecy Commentary – On a Role Against Preterism

The more I’ve encountered the eschatological belief called Preterism, the more I’ve come to believe that it has a very dark side to it. Preterism is wholly contrary to pre-Millennialism and particularly the pre-Tribulation Rapture, which so many of us – although few in actual numbers these days – are looking forward to with great hope and anticipation. The funny thing about pre-Trib is that this eschatological doctrine is said to be prevalent in the church, but the truth is that we who hold to a pre-Trib Rapture are actually a minority. Was the church of Philadelphia large and well represented? I don’t think so. It was holding on to true faith and it had little strength. God promised its people in Revelation 3:10 that He would keep them:

from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
