The Kingdom at Hand

The phrase “the kingdom at hand” refers to Old Testament prophecies that predicted the time between the two comings of Christ. This is the kingdom mentioned in the Gospels and illustrated through Christ’s parables. Contrary to what supersessionism and dispensationalism maintain, this kingdom was foretold and should not be understood as Christ’s attempt to take his throne. Instead, it represents his mission to scatter the remnant of Israel to evangelize the elect Gentiles during this age, preparing them to join Him when He returns to sit on His throne.
