Week 33 Readings of our 2025 Chronological Bible-in-a-Year Reading Challenge see us finally finish off the Old Testament (aka, the 'Hebrew Bible') with the narrative of Ezra-Nehemiah and the prophetic ministry of Malachi.

In this video, Chad Mansbridge runs us through the four Persian Kings who feature prominently in the narrative of this 'post-exilic' era—including Cyrus the Great, Darius, Xerses and Artexerses—before highlighting the 3 major waves of restoration and return of the Judean exiles under the leadership of Zerubbabel, Ezra and Nehemiah.

As predicted, the OT ends with something of an anti-climax. As grateful as God's people may be to have begun returning to their homeland of Israel, they are certainly not experiencing the fulness of their promised restoration as foretold by the prophets.

Certainly, the best is yet to come...
