Diaries of a young poet in Gaza: Batool Abu Akleen

“I decided just to keep writing my diaries and to collect them” so that a record was kept, Gaza-based poet and translator Batool Abu Akleen, 20, tells The Electronic Intifada Podcast. “But I’m not sure if I’ll survive until the end of genocide.”

She joined editors James Harker and Basma Ghalayini to talk about their new book, Voices of Resistance: Diaries of Genocide, a collection of first-person accounts and diaries from four Gaza-based writers, including Abu Akleen.
