🌟 The Faith of Our Ancestors: Saints, Scripture, and the Light of Christ 🌟

Beloved in Christ, our Sacred Legacies series continues! Yesterday we celebrated the Nativity of the Theotokos — the dawn of salvation. Today, the Church reminds us of those who prepared the way, stood firm in persecution, and defended the truth of Christ.

🕊️ Saints of the Day
• Joachim & Anna are patient in prayer and blessed to be the parents of the Theotokos.
• Severian the Martyr — a senator who encouraged the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste and gave his life for Christ.
• Theophanes the Confessor — who suffered for defending holy icons and the truth of the Incarnation.
• Afterfeast of the Nativity of the Theotokos — reminding us that salvation’s dawn cannot be contained in one day.
• Third Ecumenical Council (Ephesus, 431) — affirming Mary as Theotokos and Christ as God and man.

📖 Scriptures for Today
• Galatians 4:22–31 — In Christ, we are children of the promise, not bondage.
• Luke 8:16-21 — A lamp is not hidden. True family is those who hear the Word of God and keep it.

✨ Takeaway for Mind, Body & Soul
• Mind: Believe God’s promises.
• Body: Live in freedom, not in fear.
• Soul: Shine the light of faith — hear God’s Word and keep it.

🙏 Wisdom for Today
Faith is not passive. It involves praying like Joachim and Anna, confessing like Severian, defending truth like Theophanes, and living as children of the promise in Christ.

May we walk in their footsteps, shining the light of Christ in our world.
