📉 U.S. Job Market Just Got Worse: 911,000 Jobs Revised Away | Fed Cornered Ahead of September Rate Cut

The latest August 2025 jobs report was bad — but the BLS’s shocking labor market revisions released on September 9th reveal the situation is even worse than we thought. The U.S. economy added 911,000 fewer jobs than originally reported between April 2024 and March 2025. That’s nearly 1 million “phantom jobs” — a record-breaking downward revision that confirms the hiring slowdown has been happening for longer than most realized.
