Fury Gold Mines is making waves in Quebec's James Bay region with a newly released preliminary economic assessment (PEA) that underscores the untapped potential of its Eau Claire gold deposit. CEO Tim Clark joins Kitco Mining to break down the numbers—and the discipline—behind this conservative yet high-reward gold play.

The PEA outlines 76,000 ounces of annual gold production over 11 years with all-in sustaining costs at just US$1,140 per ounce. With an after-tax NPV of C$554 million and IRR of 41% at US$2,400 gold, the project is already economic. But the alternate toll milling scenario takes it further—slashing upfront capex to C$117 million, doubling the IRR to 84%, and reducing the payback period to just 1.2 years.

Tim Clark says the company is positioned to outperform without overpromising, with scalability and exploration upside driving future value. With 1.2 million ounces in Measured and Indicated, and another half-million Inferred—not including the high-grade Hinge zone or 30 kilometers of yet-to-be-drilled ground—the Eau Claire deposit could reach a billion-dollar valuation at US$3,000 gold.
