This movement is Nepal Against Corruption ✊. It is about truth, justice, and accountability. Yet many people outside of Nepal — and even some inside — are being told a different story. A false narrative is being pushed, claiming this is about “social media bans” or online restrictions. That is simply not true.

👉 The reality is clear: this movement began as a stand against corruption — against dishonesty, abuse of power, and the betrayal of public trust. Corruption has stolen opportunities from citizens, slowed Nepal’s development, and created deep inequality. The people of Nepal — especially the youth — have risen to say NO MORE.

Unfortunately, some media outlets and commentators have tried to twist this into something it is not. They frame it as if the issue is about social media platforms or bans. That framing is false and it serves one purpose: to distract the world from the real issue — the demand for a corruption-free Nepal. By spreading this wrong narrative internationally, they are trying to silence the real voices of Nepalis.

But the truth cannot be hidden.

Across Nepal, ordinary people — students, workers, parents, farmers — have taken to the streets to peacefully demand justice and integrity. In schools and among the youth, the cost has been tragically high. Reports confirm that 40–60 young students, mostly between the ages of 13 and 18, have lost their lives. These were not accidents. They were killed with real bullets, many by direct headshots, fired by police. Hundreds more — possibly 300 to 500 civilians — have been severely injured.

The violence has not ended in the streets. At night, police have reportedly entered homes, carried out raids, and even fired on people inside their own houses. Families are living in fear, not only of protests being attacked, but of midnight knocks on the door. Several youth and community members have been arrested, taken away without explanation, leaving parents and families in shock and despair.

This is not just an overreaction — it is a misuse of power at the highest level. It is not only an abuse of authority, but also a clear violation of civil rights, human rights, and international humanitarian law. The use of live ammunition against unarmed students, night raids into private homes, and arbitrary arrests of civilians are actions that no government can justify. International law protects children, schools, families, and civilians. When these protections are ignored, it is not only a national crisis — it becomes an international concern.

What should have been a peaceful call for justice and transparency turned into a nightmare for families, schools, and entire communities. Parents sent their children to class, not to the battlefield. Yet classrooms and schoolyards have become places of mourning. The very people who are supposed to protect the public — the police — instead turned their weapons on the youth, then followed them into their homes at night.

This is why the people of Nepal say clearly: This is not about social media. This is about corruption. This is about the misuse of power. This is about justice.

When corruption is protected by lies, and when peaceful voices are silenced by force, the future of an entire nation is at risk. But the people are not giving up. Nepali voices are strong, clear, and united: We demand accountability. We demand integrity. We demand change.

Listen to the voices of the youth, the families, and the people of Nepal. They are not asking for likes or hashtags. They are asking for a corruption-free country and justice for those who were silenced.
