I begin in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. , by the grace of Allah Almighty, today we are beginning Statement No. 24. and will be describe That how Surah Quran exposes insincere donors., So sisters, brothers friends and elders, Our aim is to learn and teach from the Quran and Sunnah, understand the rulings, reflect on history, and seek solutions to problems with divine guidance. May Allah Almighty make this statement beneficial and a source of light for all hearts.

Surah At-Tawbah is one of the most powerful chapters in the Quran in exposing the characteristics of hypocrisy. Unlike other chapters, it does not begin with "In the Name of Allah" because it is a declaration of truth and a warning against those who seek to weaken Islam from within. Among the topics discussed in detail in it is the issue of insincere donors, who give charity not for the sake of Allah but for recognition, mock the sincere, or harm the Muslim community. These verses serve as a timeless lesson for Muslims about sincerity in worship and charity.

A clear exposition of insincere donors is found in Surah At-Tawbah, verse 79 it:

"Those who criticize the donors among the believers about their charity - and those who find nothing but their own effort, then they mock them - Allah will mock them, and for them is a painful punishment."

This verse shows how the hypocrites mocked sincere Muslims. If a believer gave generously, they accused him of showing off. If a poor Muslim gave a small amount, they would mock him for giving so little. Their aim was not charity, but to eliminate the spirit of generosity in society. Allah condemned such hypocrisy and promised them a painful punishment.

The hypocrites who make false promises regarding donations are also being exposed in Surah At-Tawbah, verse 75-76. Allah says:

"And among them are those who made a covenant with Allah, saying, 'If He gives us of His bounty, we will certainly give in charity and we will certainly be among the righteous.' But when He gave them of His bounty, they became stingy and turned away, denying it."

This reveals another face of insincere donors: they talk about giving but fail when tested with wealth. Their promises are empty, and their donations - if made at all - are only for show, not for Allah.

Even the hypocrites gave, but Allah did not accept their charity because their intentions were bad:

in Surah At-Tawbah, verse 54 Quran say;
"And nothing prevents their charity from being accepted from them except that they disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger, and that they do not come to prayer except lazily, and that they do not spend except with reluctance."

This verse highlights three signs of insincere donors:

1. Lack of true faith in Allah and His Messenger (PBUH)

2. Praying without spirit, lazily.

3. Giving charity reluctantly, not for the sake of Allah, but to maintain appearances.

Thus, their donations are not only useless, but have been rejected by Allah Almighty.

Insincere donors are contrasted with true believers in Surah At-Tawbah verse 18:

"The mosques of Allah are maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and establish prayer, and give zakah, and fear none but Allah, that it may be that they will be guided."

Unlike hypocrites, sincere believers maintain acts of worship - including charity - with pure devotion. This comparison makes it clear that the hypocrites' giving is hollow, while the believers' giving is a means of guidance.

Prophet (PBUH) Warned in Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1905 about those who give charity outwardly but are punished because of their bad intentions:

"The first of those who will be judged on the Day of Resurrection will be the one who gave charity... Allah will say: You lie, you did it so that it would be said that he was generous" and it was said: Then he will be dragged on his face until he is thrown into Hell.

This Hadith is completely consistent with the message of Surah At-Tawbah: There is no reward for dishonest donations, rather it leads to humiliation.

We learn several lessons from these verses and Hadiths:

Charity without sincerity is rejected. (Surah At-Tawbah verse 54)
Hypocrites use donations for ridicule, not for worship. (Surah At-Tawbah verse 79)
Promises to give must be fulfilled with sincerity, otherwise they lead to hypocrisy. (Surah At-Tawbah verse 75-76)
True charity is a reflection of faith, not a means of showing off.

Thus, Surah At-Tawbah exposes insincere donors and teaches Muslims that Allah values ??the heart behind the act more than wealth.

Surah At-Tawbah is a mirror that clarifies the difference between sincerity and charity. Hypocrites gave reluctantly, mockingly, and with worldly praise, and Allah rejected their donations (Surah At-Tawbah verse 54, 75-76 and 79). In contrast, sincere believers gave from their hearts only for the pleasure of Allah. The Prophet also confirmed that giving charity for show is a sign of hypocrisy, not goodness. Therefore, Muslims should purify their intentions, remembering that true charity is not measured by the amount given, but by sincerity, humility, and devotion to Allah.

We conclude today's discourse with this humble supplication: O Allah, purify our hearts, accept our deeds, forgive our sins, and include us among Your grateful servants. Bless us in our time, our families, and our faith, and gather us under the shade of Your mercy on the Day of Judgment. Amen
