The Yearning of Dreams | ORIGINAL Spoken Word | Prose

An Ode to Another Year of Life in celebration of my birthday.

I recorded myself speaking the words and used Suno AI to turn it into a spoken word with instrumentals. Doesn't really sound like me but I thought it came out well.

I wrote this in 2013. I have a habit of writing prose and poetry simply because that's where the words go, only for it to take on a much deeper and more poignant meaning ten or twenty years later. Almost all my writing is this way. This piece of prose is no different.

Enjoy. :)

Words:

[Verse 1]
[Spoken Word]
I fell in love with adventure before I knew what the word meant. I paced in the womb in anticipation of a journey I knew nothing about. My heart yearned for the unknown before I knew how vast the unknown truly was. More often than not, life has more questions than answers, and death is the only constant. Sorrow and peace can share the same space in the heart. Pain can pierce deeper than the skin. Happiness happens but joy is everlasting. The unknown remains unknown. Yet adventure beckons my soul.

[Verse 2]
[Spoken Word]
I was born with wanderlust in my eyes and a hole in my heart that was patched up by a colorful swatch of fabric. Or so I like to imagine. I blame this motley-colored cloth for my abnormal views of the world. Surely, it aids in the yearning of dreams so vivid they must be real.

[Verse 3]
[Spoken Word]
I fell in love with adventure before I knew what the word meant. In the coming of life, I evaded death. I will not be stopped from finding colorful adventures in everyday life while seeking a deeper meaning and a larger destiny. Lord willing, I will live to see the day my dreams come true. To my twin sister, whom I've had the privilege of sharing my life with, though we both may question that fortune at times, I hope and pray the yearnings for your own adventures will someday be as well met as my own. And in the exact timing the Lord graciously grants them be fulfilled. Hope will never be lost.
Peace will never be taken.
Love truly conquers all.
Poetry lives on.
Never give up!
Never surrender!
May this year be better than the last.
