Did Eddie Hearn Expose the Haney's New Money-Chasing Ways?

In a recent interview with the Boxing Scene, Paulie Malignaggi and Chris Algeri discussed Eddie Hearn's latest comments about Devin and Bill Haney. According to Eddie, the Haneys are chasing money.

Eddie Hearn says, and I quote: Devin's changed, and he's fallen out of love with boxing because of what happened to him with Ryan Garcia and other nonsense.

When Devin started boxing, all he wanted to do was chase greatness. Now, I don't think Devin thinks like that anymore. I believe Devin is just fighting for the money and the biggest payday.

That's when it becomes dangerous because you're not the same fighter. Devin Haney could lose that Norman fight. Bill Haney and Devin are not looking strategically; they're only looking for the bag.

They asked themselves, "Where can we make $5-7 million?" That's why they've asked to fight Boots and Teofimo: They just want the money.

Back in the day, Bill was a lot more tactical and selective about who Devin Haney fought. Now, Bill and Devin are looking for the money. The Haneys want money, money, and more money instead of legacy, legacy, legacy-end quote.

Now, I totally disagree with Eddie Hearn's take on the Haneys. Sure, the Haneys are looking for the bag, but so are Boots Ennis and Shakur Stevenson.

So is Tank Davis, Canelo, and any other fighter in today's boxing. If Debo Dev can beat Brian Norman on November 22nd, that victory would add to his legacy while increasing his bottom line.

Eddie Hearn seems like a disgruntled ex who lost his girlfriend to another man. Some might think Eddie is jealous that the Haneys were able to make the Brian Norman fight without him.

Turki Alalshikh announced on Tha Boxing Voice that he offered Brian Norman and Devin Haney a contract to fight each other. Bill Haney also admitted this on video.

The Haney's don't need Eddie Hearn to make a fight. Why? Because they have direct access to Turki Alalshikh. As a matter of fact, any fighter who wants to fight for Turki can reach out to his team directly without a promoter.

The panel asked if Eddie is jealous of the Brian Norman Jr. fight. Brian Norman made more money fighting Jin Sasaki in Japan than Eddie offered them to fight Boots Ennis.

Now, Norman Jr. is making way more money than Eddie Hearn or the Haneys can afford to offer him. Eddie wants opponents to fight his fighters for cheap while he pays his main fighters more money.

However, Eddie's fighters are making peanuts compared to what Turki Alashikh pays. Someone must ask themselves: What's the point of signing with Eddie Hearn if you're looking for the big bucks?

Unless you're the type of fighter looking for easy fights, Eddie might be your man. Devin Haney doesn't come off as a fighter only chasing money.

His resume thus far doesn't show that. Eddie is jealous that the Haneys have moved on from him. Do you think Eddie Hearn has a point about the Haneys?
