I was feeding a cute squirrel 🐿️ some almonds and walnuts at Swan Lake, but she got scared when someone walked by, and she ran up the tree. When I looked up, I found these amazing Pheasant Back Mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 They are not only a beauty but taste awesome 😍
I sent a picture to my friend who introduced me to them in springtime last year, to ensure I’m not mistaking it with another, perhaps poisonous version. Also, I told him how surprised I was finding them here. He wrote, “That's how these mushrooms are, if you love the natural world, they will show themselves to you.”

According to AI in Google search:
"Pheasant back" and "pheasant tail" both refer to the same edible mushroom, Cerioporus squamosus, also known as Dryad's Saddle. The name comes from its top surface, which features concentric patterns of scales that resemble the feathers of a pheasant's back. Both terms are used interchangeably to describe this mushroom.
