Book Reviews: Empire of the Summer Moon

This month, we're looking at the Indian side of history in America's Wild West, starting with this weeks book, Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History by S.C. Gwynne.

Gwynne does an amazing job tracking the history of this tribe and explaining why they were so feared on the American frontier, and what forces brought them to the reservations in the late 1870's.

This book is exceptionally well written, reading like a tale from the Old West, with the added trauma and tragedy of being true. Highly recommend this one.
