MADISON (WLUK) -- New Wisconsin regulations that have significantly reduced vape shop inventory will stay in place for now after a federal judge’s ruling Friday.

As of Monday, any electronic vaping device not listed on the Department of Revenue's Electronic Vaping Device Directory is illegal to sell in the Badger State. That’s because of legislation signed into law in 2023.

Officials say there are currently 216 vaping device products listed in that directory. The regulations primarily impact disposable vapes (or "dispos"), open-tanks and juices, according to Tyler Hall of WiscoFAST, or Wisconsinites for Alternatives to Smoking Tobacco.
